UNLV women’s soccer rips Fresno State, reaches MWC tourney semifinals

The UNLV women's soccer team, seeded fourth, beat No. 5 seed Fresno State 3-0 to open the Mountain West Conference tournament on Wednesday in San Diego.

Jenn Wolfe connected for the Rebels (12-3-4) in the 26th minute, Denali Murnan scored in the 59th minute, and Susie Bernal struck in the 90th minute.

UNLV outshot the Bulldogs 14-4 and allowed only one shot on goal as Rebels goalie Kylie Wassell netted her 10th shutout of the season.

The Rebels will face top-seeded San Diego State at 7 p.m. Friday in the semifinals.
