48-year-old Mogul man gets life in prison for killing brother

A Mogul man has been sentenced to life in prison for killing his brother after an argument over a cellphone.

Robert Davis, 48, must serve 22 years before he becomes eligible for parole under the sentence handed down Wednesday by Washoe District Judge Scott Freeman. Davis was convicted by a jury in June of first-degree murder.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports family members called the killing in September a tragedy. They said the victim, 43-year-old Matthew Davis, suffered from mental illness and did not take his medications.
