UNLV men’s golf stands second in Georgia event

The UNLV men's golf team dropped a spot to second place through two rounds of the Ping/Golfweek Preview Invitational in Alpharetta, Ga. The Rebels shot 6-over 286 Tuesday for a 7-over 567 total, one shot behind UCLA.
Kevin Penner (1-under 69) and Kurt Kitayama (72) paced the Rebels and were tied for fifth individually at even-par 140. San Diego State's Tom Berry led at 4-under 136.
The 15-team event, featuring 14 of the top 25 teams in the nation, concludes today.
