UNLV volleyball claims title with two wins in home tourney
The UNLV volleyball team won its two matches Saturday in the UNLV Classic at Cox Pavilion, sweeping Texas Southern 25-10, 25-16, 25-17 and rallying past Gonzaga 23-25, 25-17, 25-23, 25-19 in the championship contest.
Candice Thomas and Stephanie Thelen had 12 kills apiece to pace the Rebels (6-3) against Texas Southern. Kinsey Caldwell had 34 assists and Allison Davies 12 digs.
Against Gonzaga, Thomas had 16 kills and Madeline Westman added 15. Caldwell had 46 assists, and Davies had 16 digs.
