Luke Bryan takes spotlight as Red Rock headliner

At what point do fast-rising country stars go from opening act to headliner? For Luke Bryan, you can pretty well pinpoint it: today, at Red Rock Resort's outdoor amphitheater.

Today's show falls between two nights of Bryan's fall tour as Jason Aldean's opening act. But it comes before he strikes out as a headliner next year, fueled by his two Country Music Awards nominations, for Male Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year ("Tailgates & Tanlines").

Before those awards are handed out Nov. 1, Bryan will sing eight shows in 10 days on his annual "Farm Tour" of places such as Clemson, S.C., and Macon, Ga.

One thing is certain: No matter how many times Bryan can make it here to perform in person, "Country Girl (Shake It for Me)" is sure to represent him in Las Vegas topless shows. It's a safe bet to replace "Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)" for the requisite cowgirl number.
