Charity seeks public’s help for flood victims

A local nonprofit is asking for the public to share their time, supplies or money to help families and businesses affected by last week's flooding.

The storms, which brought record rainfall and killed one person on Sept. 11, also damaged 30 homes and small businesses, according to Clark County. Much of the damage is from wet floors, furniture and property that may not be covered by insurance.

SHARE, a local affordable housing group, is organizing clean-up efforts and asking for help. Republic Services has donated trash bins to help hard-hit areas.

Anyone willing to help with the efforts or make a donation can contact SHARE at 702-624-5792.

Anyone whose home was damaged by the flooding and needs assistance can also call that number.
