Motorcyclist hospitalized after Las Vegas crash

A Las Vegas man was critically injured Wednesday afternoon when he crashed the motorcycle he was driving.

Las Vegas police said the accident happened on West Shawnee Avenue, east of Tilton Lane. Witnesses told police that David Hunt, 48, was heading westbound on Shawnee Avenue when the brakes on his 2003 Harley Davidson Sportster locked up. The motorcycle began to slide and Hunt and hit the ground, police said.

Hunt was transported to University Medical Center's trauma center.

Police continue to investigate the crash.
