Gotta love the old-fashioned appeal of apple butter, its deeply flavored, lightly spiced goodness the perfect foil for a slice of fresh bread slathered with sweet butter. And before I make myself even hungrier, here are reader responses to Barbara Moos' search for Musselman's apple butter:

Alander emailed that Knouse Foods, which makes Lucky Leaf apple products, bought Musselman's some years ago, and that the products under both names often are identical.
