Dance group celebrating fifth anniversary

The Las Vegas Contemporary Dance Theater will celebrate its fifth anniversary May 29 with a 7:30 p.m. concert in the Reynolds Hall at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, 361 Symphony Park Ave. A reception follows the performance.
The program includes three premiere ballets -- "Vespers" by master choreographer Ulysses Dove; "Variations," by Milton Myers, and "Metamorphosis II," by founding Artistic Director Bernard H. Gaddis -- plus a new work, "Lifted" by Rennie Harris.

The Las Vegas Contemporary Dance Theater is the city's first professional nonprofit contemporary dance company. Its style is both classical and modern, and highly athletic.
During the upcoming season, the dance company also will perform in the Judy Bailey Theater at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and tour to New York, Canada and Mexico.
Gaddis and Charmaine Hunter founded the Las Vegas Contemporary Dance Theater . An internationally known performer and choreographer, Gaddis continues with the company with Associate Director Emeritus Kevin Gibbs, and newly appointed Associate Director Marie-Joe Tabet.
