Early Sunday crash leaves two dead in southwest valley

Two people were killed in a two-car collision at the intersection of Flamingo Road and Town Center Drive early Sunday, Las Vegas police said.

The crash happened about 12:30 a.m. when a Hyundai Sonata heading south on Town Center struck a Subaru Impreza heading east on Flamingo, police said.

Investigators said the Subaru, driven by Matthew Dalrymple, 23, of Las Vegas, failed to stop at the intersection.

The Hyundai caught fire following the collision.

The 67-year-old man driving the Hyundai and his 57-year-old female passenger were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The names of the victims were not released pending family notification.

Dalrymple was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

The crash remained under investigation.
