Strip to be shut down for O’Shea’s parking garage implosion early Tuesday

In preparation for the implosion of the seven-story O'Shea's parking garage, Clark County officials will close down several streets early Tuesday, including portions of the Strip.

The implosion is set to occur at 2:30 a.m.

Crews will be setting up barriers near the Strip casino site at 1 a.m. At 2 a.m. Las Vegas Boulevard will be closed in both directions between Caesars Palace and The Mirage. Winnick Avenue behind the Imperial Palace and Flamingo will be closed. The county plans to also barricade Audrie Street behind the Imperial Palace and the Flamingo.

Crews plan to reopen the roads at 6 a.m. Tuesday, but the timing depends on how long it takes for the dust from the parking garage to settle and debris to be cleaned up.
