Homeless man found stabbed to death in central valley

A homeless man was fatally stabbed in the central valley Sunday, Las Vegas police said.

His identity was not released.

Homicide Lt. Ray Steiber said he was a Hispanic man who appeared to be in his 40s. Steiber said that at 4:55 p.m. investigators were called out to the area of E Street and Morgan Avenue, just northeast of the Spaghetti Bowl, where they found the man injured on the street. He later died at University Medical Center from "multiple stab wounds," Steiber said.

There were no suspects and no apparent motive as of Sunday night, Steiber said. He said investigators were canvassing the neighborhood and looking for witnesses or people who might know what led to the stabbing.

Anyone with information on the stabbing is encouraged to call the Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Section at 828-3521 or Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
