Motorcyclist dies in West Sahara crash at traffic signal

A 42-year-old Las Vegas man riding a motorcycle died after a Friday night crash involving three other vehicles on Sahara Avenue at Grand Canyon Drive, Las Vegas police said.

The man, riding a 2007 Honda Reflex 250 motorcycle, was waiting at a red light eastbound on Sahara behind a 2012 Hyundai Tucson, driven by Janaki Chinnaswamy, 25, and a 2006 Nissan Sentra, driven by Satyanarayanan Chinnaswamy, 21, both of Las Vegas.

A 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup, driven by Oliver Jennings, 36, of Chandler, Ariz., slammed into the rear of the motorcycle. The motorcyclist flew from his bike over the Hyundai and into the rear window of the Nissan before landing on the roadway .

The three other drivers suffered minor injuries. No one was immediately charged; however, police continued to investigate the crash Saturday.
