Brady’s wife puts blame on receivers

The New England Patriots say there's no finger-pointing after their Super Bowl loss, even if supermodel Gisele Bundchen won't abide by that code.

The wife of quarterback Tom Brady was caught on camera complaining that dropped passes doomed the Pats to a 21-17 loss to the New York Giants on Sunday at Indianapolis.

Late in the game, usually dependable receiver Wes Welker dropped a pass that went off his hands; Aaron Hernandez and Deion Branch also had trouble coming up with catches. Bundchen was caught on video by TheInsider.com responding to a pro-Giants heckler after the game by saying, "My husband cannot (expletive) throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time."

Brady was not available for comment Monday, when the team flew back to Foxborough, Mass., and arrived at Gillette Stadium on buses. Asked if the team had any comment, Patriots spokesman Stacey James pursed his lips together and shook his head from side to side.

But defensive back James Ihedigbo said Welker was a big reason the Patriots made it to the Super Bowl, and he's not to blame for the loss.

"You can't point fingers at anybody. Wes made amazing plays all season," Ihedigbo said.

■ PATRIOTS NEW COORDINATOR -- New England coach Bill Belichick confirmed that Josh McDaniels will be the team's offensive coordinator next season.

McDaniels was brought in during the playoffs to serve as an "offensive assistant." He was widely seen as the heir to offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien, who had been hired to replace Joe Paterno at Penn State, but it wasn't official until Belichick confirmed the move.

McDaniels was the Pats' offensive coordinator from 2006 to 2008 until he left to become coach of the Denver Broncos. He lasted 28 games before he was fired with a 3-9 record in 2010. He was the Rams' offensive coordinator this season.

■ OCHOCINCO PLEADS -- New England receiver Chad Ochocinco pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge in Cincinnati hours after playing in the Super Bowl.

A Hamilton County court bailiff said the former Cincinnati Bengals player pleaded guilty to a charge of failure to display a valid driver's license during a July 21 traffic stop.

Court documents show Ochocinco, who's listed under his former name Chad Johnson, was originally charged with driving with a suspended license and a window tint violation. The documents also state that his out-of-state driver's license was suspended. The bailiff said he has a valid license now.

The judge fined Ochocinco $200 and ordered him to pay $104 in court costs.
