‘Extreme Couponing’ shooting at Glazier’s Food Marketplace

You may be all shopped out, but the finalists of TLC's "Extreme Couponing All-Stars" are just getting started.

The hourlong finale of the upcoming seven-part series, debuting Dec. 27, takes over Glazier's Food Marketplace after business hours on Thursday for the shoot.

Three finalists will be running with scissors, then clipping and snipping (and possibly sniping) as they compete to see who can save the most during what executive producer Matt Sharp calls "the Super Bowl of couponing."

And while Las Vegas may not have a Super Bowl-worthy football stadium, it's an ideal locale for the shopping showdown, Sharp contends.

After all, "Las Vegas is known as the ultimate gamble," he says. And competing to see who can save the most money through the creative use of coupons is "making money in a different way," Sharp contends.

But there's one thing "Extreme Couponing All-Stars" doesn't discount: the inherent tune-in factor that comes with the Vegas location.

"Las Vegas is just a location I think everyone is fascinated with," Sharp says. Add Las Vegas' reputation as a boxing capital to a show that "also feels like a prize-fight to a certain degree" and that's shoppertainment.

'Hangover' hangover: The success of the made-in-Vegas "The Hangover," and its not-made-in-Vegas sequel, have spawned a host of raunchy imitations, variations and wannabes.

The latest, now in development: "Last Vegas," a "Hangover" with an AARP twist, about a quartet of retired baby boomers who gather at (you guessed it) a Vegas bachelor party for a veteran ladies' man who's finally settling down -- with a woman half his age.

It's scripted by Dan Fogelman ("Crazy, Stupid, Love"), who must have Vegas on the brain; he also wrote the upcoming "My Mother's Curse," starring Seth Rogen and Barbra Streisand, which filmed at Caesars Palace in July.

Nobody's been cast in "Last Vegas," but the CBS Films/Mandate Pictures production already has a director: Jon Turteltaub , whose credits include the "National Treasure" movies and "The Sorcerer's Apprentice." (Maybe his frequent collaborator, Nicolas Cage, can give Turteltaub some Vegas filming tips; after filming "Leaving Las Vegas," "Honeymoon in Vegas," "Con Air" and "Next" here, Cage definitely knows the territory.)

SPORTING NEWS: It's NASCAR Champions Week, which means cable's Speed channel will be providing weeklong coverage, highlighted by Friday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Awards at Wynn Las Vegas. Reba McEntire hosts and is scheduled to perform, as is Kid Rock. In addition, Las Vegas' Levy Production Group will be at the Hard Rock Hotel on Thursday shooting the Stewie Awards Show for SiriusXM Satellite Radio. Hosted by 2011 NASCAR Sprint champ Tony Stewart and Matt Yocum, the Stewies celebrate "the best, boldest and funniest moments from the NASCAR season," as determined by SiriusXM listeners.

And just as the NASCAR racers zoom out of town, the cowboys ride in for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, with nightly coverage from the Thomas & Mack Center on cable's Great American Country channel. In addition, "Inside the NFR" starts production today, focusing on a variety of locations around town for segments expected to air through Dec. 10.

QUICK TAKES: Discovery ID's "Deadly Women" makes a three-day visit to conduct interviews in Las Vegas, North Las Vegas and Clark County for its latest true-crime series. And local Ben Kalb starts production at DK Studios on a new infomercial promoting comfy jeans; Lynda Etkin hosts the spot, which also features stylist Lucienne Salamone , who recently hosted the mother-daughter fashion intervention cable show "You're Wearing That?!?"
