Super Summer Theatre continues with 'Fiddler on the Roof'

Super Summer Theatre is presenting performances of the musical "Fiddler on the Roof" through Saturday at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park.

Performances are scheduled for 8 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Parking opens at 5 p.m., and meadow seating starts at 6 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased in advance for $12 at the UNLV Performing Arts box office, Prestige Travel at 7550 W. Lake Mead Blvd. (Buffalo Drive and Lake Mead) or online at unlvtickets.com. Park entrance after 5 p.m. is free with a show ticket.

The District at Green Valley Ranch, 2240 Village Walk Drive, is planning to host the Outdoor Picture Show, free movies at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and Music on Main, free music from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Clark County MUSEUM EXHIBIT COVERS EVOLUTION OF the OFFICE

An exhibit called "From Carbon Paper to .pdf" is slated to be shown through Oct. 23 at the Clark County Museum, 1830 S. Boulder Highway.

The exhibit showcases 100 years of office evolution and how technology has changed from a quill pen and ink to computers.

Vegas Cine Fest set for this week at the Tropicana

Tropicana Las Vegas plans to host the third annual Vegas Cine Fest Aug. 25-27. The festival is slated to feature premiere screenings, Q&A sessions and themed after-parties at Club Nikki. The three-day event will conclude with a Gala Awards Ceremony, with awards presented to winners in the Feature Film, Featurette, Film Shorts, Screenplay and Music Video categories.

One of the films set to be featured at the festival is "More to Live For," the story of three men from different backgrounds who are united by their common search for a bone marrow donor. The premiere is at 7 p.m. Friday with red carpet arrivals starting at 4 p.m. The film will be followed by an audience Q&A session and an opportunity to join the bone marrow registry. Las Vegas Philharmonic to open season with Beethoven's Symphony No. 5

The Las Vegas Philharmonic plans to open its newest season at 8 p.m. Sept. 10 at Artemus W. Ham Hall on the UNLV campus, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway. Miles Hoffman is scheduled to perform on viola.

The music lineup is set to include Mikhail Glinka's Overture to Russlan & Ludmilla and William Walton's Viola Concerto. Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 is set to close out the evening.

Village Square theater to show Shakespeare classics

"Henry VIII" is set to be shown at 6:30 p.m Sept. 15 at Village Square 18, 9400 W. Sahara Ave.

The film includes a 20-minute historical perspective on the Globe Theatre and its reconstruction.

THE SWINGERS CLUB TO OPEN AT THE PLAZA

The Swingers Club is scheduled to open Wednesday at the Plaza, 1 S. Main St. A grand opening is planned for Labor Day weekend. The club is set to feature dueling pianos on the bar floor to encourage audience participation, sing-alongs, personal requests and the chance for piano players to mingle with customers during breaks.

The club also will feature nine holes of Vegas-themed mini golf. The bar is scheduled to be open from 11 a.m. to 4 a.m. seven nights a week to customers 21 or older. Live music acts are scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m., and the dueling pianos will follow from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. A disc jockey is set to spin music for glow-in-the-dark disco golf from 2 to 4 a.m.

Crash a Wedding for breast cancer is set for 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the Springs Preserve, 333 S. LAS VEGAS HARVEST FESTIVAL SCHEDULED SEPT. 9-11 AT CASHMAN CENTER

The Las Vegas Harvest Festival, one of the largest indoor arts and crafts festivals in the West, is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 9-10 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 11 at the Cashman Center, 850 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

General admission is $9 or $7 for those 62 or older. Tickets for teens 13-14 are $4, and children 12 or younger will be admitted free with an adult. Group tickets are $5 each for groups of 10 or more if purchased in advance.

Adults and seniors can get a $2 discount with a donation of paper products, baby food, baby wipes or formula. The donations will be given to Safe Nest, a shelter for women and children.

Local charities also will benefit from Miss Spider's Tea Party, a series of interactive storyteller tea parties to be put on by the Royal Tea Society on Sept. 10-11. Tea is $5 per person, and children must be accompanied by an adult.
