Dining pick of the week: Albo Pizza
August 15, 2011 - 11:17 pm
1510 Las Vegas Blvd. South, 383-3225
Even though Albo is mostly known for its pizza, there are customers who claim there is no better Philly steak in town. My suggestion is try both and decide for yourself. Start with one of the specialty pizzas, such as the Albo (pepperoni, sausage, ground beef, ham, onions, mushrooms, black olives and green peppers), Hawaiian, vegetarian, barbecue chicken, Spicy Mexican, spinach with ricotta, Super Steak or California with garlic butter, gyro meat, olives, onions, tomatoes and feta cheese with a side of tzatziki. Philly steaks come with fries, potato salad, macaroni salad, coleslaw or chips and plain or with onions, mushrooms and green peppers, or order the cheese steak with everything and eggs. There also are pizza and chicken steaks with provolone, mozzarella, Swiss or American cheese. Among the salads (dressings include blue cheese, honey mustard or oil and vinegar) are Caesar, chef, antipasto, shrimp, Buffalo chicken, tuna and Malibu with artichoke hearts, pecans, peanuts and mozzarella. Daily soups are cream of broccoli, chicken noodle and country beef. Popular appetizers include garlic bread, chicken or beef quesadilla, fried okra, onion rings and jalapeno poppers. Specialty pizzas start at $7.95 for a 10-inch pie. Albo Pizza is open from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. daily.
