KINGMAN, Ariz. -- A physician's assistant from Henderson who helped a Las Vegas doctor distribute prescription drugs illegally from a pain management clinic in Golden Valley, Ariz., was sentenced Tuesday in Mohave County Superior Court.
Bryan Espinosa, 54, a 20-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, was placed on two-years' probation and ordered to perform 250 hours of community service.
Espinosa pleaded guilty to assisting a criminal syndicate in a deal with Arizona authorities in which he cooperated in the prosecution of Dr. Albert Yeh, 47.
Superior Court Judge Rick Williams said Tuesday that the illegal enterprise was clearly spearheaded by Dr. Yeh and that Espinosa was a lesser player in the scheme.
Yeh was recently sentenced to 2½ years in prison. He also was ordered to pay $683,000 in restitution, forfeit about $2 million of personal property and forfeit any license and privilege to practice medicine in Nevada and Arizona.
