The Nevada attorney general's office on Friday said local real estate agent Christopher Brown, who works for Better Homes and Garden Desert Properties, had been arrested in connection with a foreclosure auction sales scam.
In a statement, the office said Brown is accused of filing a fraudulent and forged trustees deed upon sale with the county recorder, transferring a property to an elderly victim before the actual foreclosure sale.
The victim, the office said, had paid cash to buy the property at auction. The state accuses Brown of diverting this cash for his use instead of buying the property. The alleged victim is a senior citizen who lost more than $115,000 based on Brown's fraudulent promises, the office said.
