MGM Resorts workers offered support for transgender care

MGM Resorts International announced Monday that employees covered under the company's health-care plan can now seek support for transgender medical care.

The casino operator, which has 15 properties in Nevada, Michigan and Mississippi including 10 hotel-casinos on the Strip, will extend benefits to eligible members to receive coverage for prescription medication and counseling related to transgender care.

"This recent change in our policy formalizes this option as a coverage standard for eligible plan members," MGM Resorts Chief Diversity Officer Phyllis James said.
