Missing North Las Vegas girl is found

A 16-year-old girl missing from North Las Vegas since Jan. 29 turned herself in at an area high school Friday night, police said.

Kelly Marie Harms left her home on the 3300 block of East Rome Boulevard with some of her belongings and didn't return.

Authorities were looking for her because she needed attention for a potentially fatal medical condition.

Officer Chrissie Coon said Harms turned herself in around 8 p.m. She is now getting the medical treatment and has been reunited with her family, Coon said.

There is no foul play suspected in her disappearance.

"She willingly left home, was refusing to get the treatment that she needed and probably realizes it was in her best interests to go to a hospital," Coon said.
