A look at some of the DVDs, CDs and books hitting stores this week:

DVDS

"Red" (PG-13): When a mysterious hit squad tries to take out a former CIA black-ops agent (Bruce Willis), he rounds up a few "Retired, Extremely Dangerous" colleagues (led by Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich and Helen Mirren) to find out why.

Elsewhere on the recent-release front, "Secretariat" (PG) focuses on the '70s Triple Crown winner -- and the feisty housewife (Diane Lane) who literally bets her family's horse farm on the title thoroughbred. "The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest" (R), the final (made-in-Sweden) chapter of Stiegg Larsson's best-selling trilogy, finds computer hacker Lisbeth Salander (Noomi Rapace) hospitalized -- and awaiting trial for murder . "Nowhere Boy" (R) explores the pre-Beatles Liverpool youth of John Lennon (Aaron Johnson) . And in "Saw: The Final Chapter" (R), several of Jigsaw's victims try to deal with his deadly legacy .

Also in stores: director Gaspar Noe's trippy "Enter the Void" (not rated), about siblings trapped in Tokyo's hellish underworld; Mira Sorvino and Barry Pepper in the drama "Like Dandelion Dust" (PG-13); Tony Shalhoub in the comedy "Feed the Fish" (not rated); the documentary "Client 9: The Rise and Fall of Eliot Spitzer" (R) and TV transfers (all unrated) of "Back to You & Me," "Glee: Season Two, Vol. One," "Matlock: Sixth Season," "The Agatha Christie Hour: Set Two" and "MI-5: Vol. Eight."

Talib Kweli, "Gutter Rainbows": The East Coast has been totally kicking the West Coast in the babymaker when it comes to hip-hop these days. And the trend continues with the release of the new one from one of New York City's finest, MC Talib Kweli.

Coming with another sturdy mix of social consciousness and commercial appeal, Kweli continues to be among the leaders of rap's second tier.

No, he'll never be as a big a name as Jay-Z or Kanye, but Kweli remains hip-hop's Scottie Pippen.

Also this week, Alice Hoffman explores the history of a small town using characters connected to each other over generations through "The Red Garden," where only red plants can grow.
