Jimmer Fredette scored a career-high 52 points in No. 8 BYU's 87-76 win over nemesis New Mexico in the Mountain West Conference semifinals Friday night. In the nightcap, D.J. Gay's late bucket lifted the San Diego State over the hometown Runnin' Rebels, 74-72.

UNLV and the Mountain West took a right hook to the jaw Thursday when four conference schools agreed to join the Pac-12 beginning in the 2026-27 school year.
