CARSON CITY (AP) -- The director of the Nevada Supreme Court's Administrative Office of the Courts has been fired from his $123,783-a-year job.
Chief Justice Michael Douglas told the Nevada Appeal that 63-year-old Ron Titus was terminated last week.
But Douglas declined to comment on the reasons for the move, citing personnel rules.
Titus had been director since December 2001. His deputy, Robin Sweet, has been named interim director.
The office, which has 85 full-time employees, provides administrative support for the Supreme Court and district court system, and manages the total court system budget, which is about $60 million a year.
Its duties include budgeting, financial oversight, personnel, payroll functions and information technology services.
