Career highlights:
■ Scored 908 points in 57 games for a career scoring average of 15.9 per game.
■ Averaged 18.9 points and 11.1 rebounds in 1968-69.
■ The Rebels compiled a 43-14 record in his two seasons.
Quotable: "He was a phenomenal athlete. He could take off at the top of the key and not come down until he jammed the ball. He could shoot it, and he could run." -- Rolland Todd, former UNLV coach.
After UNLV: Lyons taught at a school for the deaf in Los Angeles. He was inducted into UNLV's Athletic Hall of Fame in 1987.
