Utah ousts top-seeded TCU, to meet Aztecs in title game

Halie Sawyer scored a career-high 24 points and tied her career best with 15 rebounds as fourth-seeded Utah upset No. 1 seed Texas Christian 69-57 in the semifinals of the Mountain West Conference women's basketball tournament Friday at the Thomas & Mack Center.
Former Pahranagat Valley standout Kalee Whipple added 14 points and eight rebounds for the Utes (22-10).
Utah will face No. 3 seed San Diego State today in a rematch of last year's final, won by the Utes.
TK LaFleur led TCU (22-8) with 15 points.
■ San Diego State 77, Brigham Young 47 -- Jene Morris scored 28 points as the Aztecs routed the Cougars.
Morris, the conference's scoring leader, had six assists and six steals as San Diego State (20-10) reached the final for the third consecutive year.
Coriann Wood led second-seeded BYU (20-9) with 11 points.
