Rebels advance with 73-61 win over Utah; rival BYU up next

Anthony Marshall and Tre'Von Willis each scored 13 points and UNLV pulled away in the second half for a 73-61 victory over Utah in the Mountain West Conference Tournament quarterfinals at the Thomas & Mack Center.
The third-seeded Rebels (24-7) will face No. 2 BYU (29-4) in the semifinals at 8:30 p.m. today
Top-seeded New Mexico and No. 4 San Diego State also advanced earlier in the day.
UNLV used a 10-0 run early in the second half to create separation against Utah, which cut a four-point halftime deficit to 31-30 on Carlon Brown's three-point play.
Marshall's steal and assist to Chace Stanback for a dunk gave the Rebels a 39-30 lead. Kendall Wallace's 3-pointer from the top extended UNLV's margin to 49-33 with 13:28 remaining.
