Wynn finding Philadelphia to be a challenge

Clearly, Wynn Resorts Chairman Steve Wynn is having a rough time trying to get his casino off the ground in Philadelphia.

First, the Philadelphia Inquirer newspaper ran a scathing editorial attacking the project and Wynn.

A day later, Wynn testified at a contentious hearing in front of the Pennsylvania Gaming Commission about the proposed $600 million casino.

After the hearing, Wynn was questioned by reporters, including Jennifer Lin of the Philadelphia Inquirer. The interview was captured by a photographer and posted to a blog on the website of the Philadelphia City Paper.

Lin asked Wynn questions about the project’s troubled history, and a clearly agitated Wynn was not happy with subject matter.

Wynn: Are you lecturing me or interviewing me?

Lin: I'm interviewing you and I'm asking you a question.

Wynn: Then please change the tone of your voice ma'am. I'm trying to be polite and I don't like the tone of your voice.

When Wynn found out Lin was a reporter for Inquirer, he said, “you’re the people who don’t like gaming very much.”

She calmly explained that she didn’t write the editorials. Wynn said he would visit with the newspaper’s editorial board at some point in the process.
