RELIGION NOTES

MUSIC

First Presbyterian Church of Las Vegas, 1515 W. Charleston Blvd., will present the music and art event "Art to Heart Messiah," featuring a choral performance of Handel's "Messiah" and more than 170 masterpieces of western art, at 2 p.m. Sunday in the church sanctuary. A goodwill offering will be accepted (384-4554).

The annual "Holiday Brass/Organ Concert & Christmas Sing-a-Long" will be presented at 2 p.m. Sunday at Green Valley Presbyterian Church, 1798 Wigwam Parkway, Henderson. The concert is free (454-8484).

The Sonrise Singers of Sunrise Baptist Church will present the free Christmas musical "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" at 6 p.m. today and 10:45 a.m. Sunday at 1780 Betty Lane (452-8599).

The All Saints' Episcopal Church choir will present "Ceremony of Lessons & Carols for Advent" at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at 4201 W. Washington Ave. The choir will perform Christmas music at 10:30 p.m. Christmas Eve prior to the 11 p.m. Mass (878-2373).

SERVICES

St. George's Anglican Church, 7676 W. Gilmore Ave., will present the "Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols" at 5 p.m. Sunday. A Christmas reception will follow (395-4576).

Green Valley Presbyterian Church, 1798 Wigwam Parkway, Henderson, will offer the following services on Christmas Eve: the family service, featuring the children's program, at 6 p.m.; a Communion service with a vocal ensemble and soloists at 8:30 p.m.; and a candlelight service with the chancel choir and hand bells at 11 p.m. (454-8484).

Guardian Angel Cathedral will have its annual Christmas Eve midnight Mass with Bishop Joseph Pepe at 336 Cathedral Way. A Christmas concert will precede the Mass at 11 p.m. Doors open to the public at 10 p.m. The midnight Mass will be televised on KLAS-TV, Channel 8 (735-5241).

All Saints' Episcopal Church, 4201 W. Washington Ave., will offer the following services for Christmas Eve: the Children's Christmas Eucharist at 4 p.m., followed by a traditional posada procession at 5:30 p.m.; the Spanish Misa La Navidad at 7 p.m.; and the Candlelight Choral Eucharist service at 11 p.m. On Christmas Day, there will be a Christmas Sung Eucharist service at 10:30 a.m. and the Holy Child Filipino Congregation will have a Christmas Sung Eucharist at 3 p.m. (878-2373).

Reformation Lutheran Church, 580 E. St. Louis Ave., will have a traditional Christmas Eve candlelight service featuring music and carols at 6 p.m. (732-2052).

EVENTS

St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 204 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, will have its annual craft and "whatnots" holiday sale featuring handmade wreaths, scarves, ornaments, gift baskets, baby items and more, 2-7 p.m. today and 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday (565-8406).

Green Valley Presbyterian Church, 1798 Wigwam Parkway, Henderson, will have a swap meet and craft show to benefit the church's youth programs 7 a.m.-2:30 p.m. today (544-8673).

The Jewish Community Center of Southern Nevada will present the "Bagel Ball" for Jewish singles 21 and older at 8 p.m. Thursday at Blush Boutique Nightclub at Wynn Las Vegas, 3131 Las Vegas Blvd. South. Nightclub attire is suggested. Complimentary cocktails and hors d'oeuvres will be provided 8-10 p.m. Tickets are $18 in advance for JCC members and $25 in advance for nonmembers, and must be purchased by Wednesday. Tickets will be $35 at the door. Attendees who bring a $5 grocery gift card will receive a free drawing ticket. Gift cards and proceeds will be donated to the Jewish Family Service Agency Food Pantry (794-0090).

Reformation Lutheran Church, 580 E. St. Louis Ave., will offer "Holiday Camp" for kindergartners through sixth-graders 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Dec. 28-30. Registration is required. The fee is $40 (732-2052).

The annual Nevada/California Interstate Missionary Baptist Christian Leadership Development Convention will be Jan. 4-7 at Second Baptist Church, 500 W. Madison Ave. The registration fee is $50 unless a participant's church has paid its State Congress Annual Registration Fee (565-0071).

MEETINGS

The Secular Franciscans of St. Margaret of Cortona fraternity meets at 12:30 p.m. the fourth Sunday of the month at Pace E Bene offices, 1420 W. Bartlett Ave. (453-2417).

SINGLES GROUPS
