RBs cleared for opener
UNLV tailbacks C.J. Cox and Imari Thompson were fully cleared for Saturday's 7 p.m. season football opener against Sacramento State at Sam Boyd Stadium.
Cox has struggled with a left hamstring injury most of the preseason. Thompson suffered a concussion last week.
Channing Trotter will start at tailback, and Chris Brogdon will be the first off the bench. Coach Mike Sanford said he didn't know how Cox and Thompson would be used.
"It all depends on how the game goes and how people's health is," Sanford said.
