IGT hires former Microsoft exec

Reno-based slot machine giant International Game Technology dipped into the ranks of Microsoft Corp. to fill the company’s newly created chief technology officer position.
Chris Satchell will join IGT after 17 years with Microsoft, most recently as the chief technology officer for the Interactive Entertainment Business, with responsibility for technical strategy and execution across the video gaming business including Xbox, Games for Windows, Xbox LIVE and Microsoft Game Studios.
"(Chris) will play an instrumental role in shaping our strategic and tactical technological vision and refocusing our internal technology support on many levels within the organization," IGT CEO Patti Hart said in a statement.
The new position will have direct management responsibility for IGT's Information Systems team, research and development, and the advanced software architecture group.
