Divorce documents unsealed, charge Gibbons with infidelity

First lady Dawn Gibbons accuses Gov. Jim Gibbons of being romantically involved with Kathy Karrasch and Leslie Durant, the wives of two Reno doctors, in divorce documents unsealed today by a court order.

Dawn Gibbons, through her lawyers, also states Gibbons was "untruthful regarding matters about his infidelity" with the two women.

The governor, during a news conference last year, denied he was anything more than good friends with the two women.

In the divorce records, Dawn Gibbons states the governor never could have been elected to any office, let alone governor, without her help during their 23-year marriage.

She also states that the reason Gibbons filed for divorce from her on May 2, 2008, was so he could spend time with "another woman."

The court case was unsealed by Washoe County Family Court Judge Frances Doherty.

Financial records, however, have not been unsealed but could be made public as early as April 20 by the judge.
