Not many people can lay claim to being a four-time Olympian like Martha Watson, who dominated American women’s long jumping in the 1960s and 1970s. Take a gander at my column on Thursday to find out more about this likable Las Vegan, who said when she began long jumping at age 14, one of the perks was getting out of housecleaning with her sisters on Saturdays.
In 1996, when the Olympic torch was traveling to Atlanta, Martha was one of the Nevadans who carried the torch.
