Colorado State rumbles past Lady Rebels

The UNLV women's basketball team shot 25.9 percent from the floor, and Colorado State made two second-half runs to coast to an 85-55 victory Saturday in a Mountain West Conference game in Fort Collins, Colo.
UNLV (10-14, 3-8 MWC) trailed 40-30 at halftime, but the Rams opened the second half with a 14-2 run to stretch the lead to 22, then added a 23-9 burst to take a 77-44 lead with about five minutes left.
The Lady Rebels hit 15 of 58 shots, including a 4-for-18 effort (22.2 percent) from 3-point range, and they also got outrebounded, 50-31.
Shamela Hampton led UNLV with 18 points, and Jamie Smith had 12 points and seven rebounds.
Bonnie Barbee led Colorado State (8-16, 3-8) with 19 points, and Britney Minor scored 14. The Rams' bench outscored UNLV's, 49-8.
Colorado State shot 47.8 percent (32 of 67) from the field.
