Contractors, landscapers to renovate area yard

The Nevada State Contractors Board and the Nevada Landscape Association have announced the start of this year's Operation Green, a community service project offering free renovation of a yard to one homeowner each in Southern and Northern Nevada.

Only 100 applications from each region will be accepted. Households will be chosen based on income and special circumstances.

The program is not available to tenants, landlords, mobile home owners and owners who do not reside at the residence.

This year's Southern Nevada participants are Walker Landscape, Land Care Inc., Courtney Landscape, Star Nursery, John Deere Landscapes and Vista Landscape Center.

To obtain an application, along with a homeowner waiver and media release form, visit the Nevada State Contractors Board Web site at www.nscb.state.nv.us or call Ranya Botros at 486-1165.

Applications may be submitted now through Aug. 29.

Completed forms should be faxed to 486-1176 or mailed to Botros at Nevada State Contractors Board, 2310 Corporate Circle, Suite 200, Henderson, NV 89074.

The Nevada State Contractors Board has the responsibility to promote quality construction by Nevada licensed contractors through a regulatory licensing system designed to protect the health, welfare and safety of the public. NLA promotes professionalism and integrity within the green industry through education, high standards and community involvement.
