PARTY CIRCUIT
May 2, 2008 - 9:00 pm
If your dance card is anything like ours, you have a stack of invitations to parties to attend as the weather gets warmer. Whether it be a summer soiree, a ball, a wedding celebration by day or night or a chi-chi sporting event where you want to look your best, we have some tips that will help you arm your closet with outfits that will make it easy for you to accept that last-minute invite.
WITH THIS RING
You know you'll be attending at least one wedding this summer, even if it's an impromptu jaunt to the courthouse. Stashing dresses in your closet for just such occasions can take the worry out of what to wear. By day, lean toward a printed wrap dress with a hint of pastel. You'll be stylish without taking the focus off the bride. At night, keep the romantic feel with a pastel shift that features ruffles or a Grecian feel. Both dresses get a boost from a pair of patent leather sandals in a neutral tone.
SOCIAL DIRECTOR
The summer party scene always includes at least one ball and even more cocktail parties. Make a statement with a metallic gown that stands out from the typical black dresses found at such events. If it's a cocktail party, turn to the little white dress that will turn heads. A peep-toe pump finishes off both of these looks.
GOOD SPORT
You might find yourself at a Kentucky Derby party this Sunday, a boxing match or even a UFC bout, you can still find a flirty look that suits the occasion. For a dramatic look, go for a dress with an artistic flair to it that will have you in the right state of mind. For a more casual event, turn to a dramatic top paired with a bubble skirt that isn't too over-the-top. A sculptured wedge gives these looks a sporty edge.
