Horizon Air will fly to Santa Rosa, Calif.

A trip to the heart of California wine country could soon be cheaper than buying a bottle at a Strip restaurant.

Horizon Air will begin daily flights from Las Vegas to Santa Rosa, Calif., beginning Thursday, the airline said in a statement.

The evening flights to Santa Rosa depart Las Vegas at 10:15 p.m. and use a twin-engine Bombardier Q400 turboprop. Flights from Santa Rosa will arrive at McCarran at 9:40 p.m. Flight duration is about two hours and five minutes.

Horizon is a sister carrier to Alaska Airlines and participates in Alaska's frequent flier program.
