Baring It All

Like Pamela Anderson and Christina Applegate before her, Eva Mendes took it all off to let the world know she'd "rather go naked" than wear fur. To promote the PETA poster that proves her claim, the easy-on-the-eyes actress donned an ensemble that showed very little skin. Good move, Eva. If the world thought your naked rear was just a preview of more flesh-revealing outfits to come, you just proved them wrong.

Mendes starts with a tomato-red frock with very little shape. She relies on the eye-catching color, not a sexy cut, to inject the pop. The button details on the chest and pleat down the center convey an innocent, schoolgirl tone.

Ordinarily, Mendes leans toward a sophisticated, feminine look. Here, she offsets the girly element with a dose of biker babe. Her knee-high leather boots and motorcycle hat together dress down a garment that could easily make the cut for choir practice.

Our one criticism of Mendes' outfit would be the tired, tattered tote. Come on, Eva, you can do better than that. We've seen it. Matching the shoes, hat and bag is so mid-'90s. You could have really packed some punch with an oversized, patterned clutch or patent leather bag in a contrasting color. Instead, you look ready to board a flight with this boring carry-on. Yawn.

Other than that, good job on looking like the antithesis to a bare-it-all starlet. We didn't mind seeing you in the buff, but when you dress this well, we don't mind when the clothes come back on, either.
