ROMAN HOLIDAY
January 4, 2008 - 10:00 pm
When it comes to fashions that can be worn year-round, Las Vegans hit the jackpot. Resort or cruise wear fills that niche between spring and fall with fabrics such as cottons, silks and microfibers that can be worn anytime. From a design perspective, resort represents a time when designers can try their hands at different cuts than they usually offer in their more standard collections. It's a little risky, a little daring and a little reminder that the weather here in Vegas isn't so bad.
Roberto Cavalli tames down his typical wild animal prints and sexy cuts with this chiffon dress. The mini joins the cap-sleeve on this dress from Miu Miu, the little, funkier sister to Prada. And the hipster in you will appreciate this abstract red dress from Marc by Marc Jacobs at a surprisingly affordable price.
If anything, resort affords you the opportunity to try a new designer who hadn't caught your eye before.
