Fire damage to home put at $150,000

Fire tore through a Henderson home Friday causing $150,000 in damage and displacing its sole resident, authorities said.

Henderson firefighters were called about 5:25 p.m. to 27 Wyoming Ave., near Water Street and Atlantic Avenue, with reports of a house fire, said Battalion Chief Randall Jones.

Firefighters arrived and extinguished the blaze in about 20 minutes. The resident was home at the time but escaped unharmed.

Investigators believe the fire started in a storage room, ignited by an electric fan, Jones said. Damage to the home was estimated at $150,000.
