Shriners taking orders for Vidalia onions
Every year since 1992, the Zelzah Shrine Center has ordered sweet Vidalia onions from the Vidalia region of Georgia and sold them for $10 per 10-pound bag; $5 per 6-pound bag.
This year, the center has ordered 30,000 pounds to ensure plenty to go around the valley.
The onions, set to arrive later this month or in early May, are part of one of the Shriners' most popular fundraisers. Proceeds generated by the sale of the onions benefit children with orthopedic ailments or severe burns.
The Zelzah Shrine Center is located at 2222 W. Mesquite Ave. To place an order, call 382-5558.
