Valley's best roses to go on display

The Las Vegas Valley Rose Society will host its annual Spring Rose Show today at the West Charleston Library, 6301 W. Charleston Blvd.

The public is welcome to attend. Entries will be accepted from 7:30 to 9 a.m. There is no fee to enter, and containers will be provided by the Rose Society. You do not have to be a member to enter a rose. The show opens to the public at noon and will run until 4 p.m.

Stock up on household ideas

The Home, Pool and Spa Show will offer ideas on getting your home and backyard into shape for those sizzling summer barbecues.

The event moves into the South Point Events Center today, and is free to the public. Show hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. today; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Exhibits will include flooring, windows, roofing, air conditioning and heating, insulation, room additions, kitchen cabinets, bathroom renovations and accessories, awnings and patio covers, landscaping products and services, barbecues, security systems and more.

Attendees also will find information on hot tubs, swim spas and saunas.
