Miscue foils 51s in 10th inning

A two-out error by 51s shortstop Tony Abreu in the 10th inning allowed pinch runner Lloyd Turner to score, lifting the Sacramento River Cats to a 4-3 victory in the Pacific Coast League on Monday night at West Sacramento, Calif.

Sacramento's Daric Barton singled off Luis Gonzalez with two outs and Turner ran for him. Turner stole second and Kurt Suzuki was walked intentionally.

Abreu was unable to handle Brian Stavisky's grounder, letting the ball roll into center field and scoring Turner with the winning run. Connor Robertson, the fourth River Cats pitcher, got the win.

51s reliever Harold Eckert had been brought in to start the 10th, but threw only one pitch before exiting with a leg injury, bringing on Gonzalez (0-2).

Las Vegas starter D.J. Houlton left after six innings with a 3-2 lead, having allowed three hits. But the River Cats tied the game in the seventh on four walks by left-hander reliever Greg Miller.

The 51s were held to four hits, two by Tomas Perez.

The teams wrap up their four-game series today at 11:35 a.m.
