One person was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries Saturday morning after a suspected DUI crash in the east valley.
The Metropolitan Police Department responded just after 7 a.m. to the crash at Desert Inn Road and Eastern Avenue, Lt. CJ Jenkins said.
A Honda was traveling east on Desert Inn when a Chrysler turned in front of it from the westbound lanes of Desert Inn onto Eastern, police said. As the Chrysler turned in front of the Honda, the front of the Honda struck the Chrysler’s passenger side, police said.
The 32-year-old passenger of the Chrysler was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in critical condition. The driver, 30-year-old Nicholas Wojciechowski, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and was arrested on a felony charge of DUI resulting in substantial bodily harm.
The Honda’s driver had minor injuries and remained at the scene. She showed no signs of impairment, police said.
