Five-time buyer appreciates Findlay Kia

To say that 87-year-old Leo Mazer may be one of the all-time favorite customers of Findlay Automotive Group is a definite understatement.

Mazer, a U.S. Army veteran who served during World War II, Korea and Vietnam, has bought five cars from Findlay Kia at 5325 W. Sahara Ave. in the past six years.

Mazer is a stickler on not only the quality of his vehicle but the available service after the purchase.

"Customer service is so important," said Mazer, who was born in Minnesota, raised in Flint, Mich., and has lived in Las Vegas for the past 25 years. "I have no problems at all with these people. I don't need an appointment when I come there. They treat me well here. When I come in the door, they help me immediately. They love to see me."

While Mazer's first purchased vehicle with the automotive group was a Saturn, it's the Kia brand that amazes him.

"I love the hybrid model," said Mazer, whose latest purchase was a 2013 Sorrento sport utility vehicle. "The way it handles and the gas mileage is what interested me the most. I have a lot of running around that I have to do, so fuel mileage is very important. I get 25 to 31 miles to the gallon with the air (conditioning) on in town. I go back and forth to the veterans' hospital off Interstate 15. It's about 15 miles one way."

Mazer said the Sorrento handles extremely well.

"It has all the snap that I need at my age," he laughed.

Also important was that Findlay Kia's service department transferred a handicap lift that was on the 2012 Sorrento SUV he traded in .

"They did it for me and there was no problem," Mazer said.

In particular, Mazer praised Findlay Kia General Manager Byron Klemaske and Service Manager Bob Williams.

"Byron has helped me with deals. He's the one who has to approve everything. When I need a little help, he comes to my aid," Mazer said. "Bob has been outstanding to me when I bring my car into service. I always go to him. I won't go to anyone other than Bob. I'm a tough guy and can be hard to please, but I want my service to be done correctly - and they do that."

Findlay Kia is part of Findlay Automotive Group, which was founded more than 50 years ago by the late Pete Findlay, whose son, Cliff Findlay, now spearheads new- and used-car operations in Nevada, Utah, Arizona and Idaho.
