Friendly Ford sales manager drives what he sells

Friendly Ford sales manager Randy Combs is a big believer in the product he sells.

The 33-year automobile business veteran recently purchased an all-wheel-drive 2016 Ford Edge sport utility vehicle from the dealership at 660 N. Decatur Blvd.

The Edge comes with three different engines including the 2.0-liter EcoBoost with 245 horsepower, the 3.5-liter Ti-VCT V-6 with 280 horsepower and the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V-6 with 315 horsepower.

The vehicle’s mileage ratings range from 20 miles per gallon city to 30 highway depending on the model.

Combs bought his Edge for several reasons, including that he and his wife, Brigitte, have a baby girl, Carly. His Edge features the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V-6.

The Edge safety package includes AdvanceTrac with roll stability control and curve control, child safety rear door locks, safety canopy, SOS postcrash alert system and tire pressure monitoring system.

“This Edge is the perfect vehicle especially for someone with a family,” Combs said. “It handles extremely well and has great interior space. In addition, the available engines cannot be beaten.”

“I started in the car business when I was 19 or 20,” said the 53-year-old Combs, the father of five. “I don’t call this work because I have so much fun at what I do at Friendly Ford.”

Friendly Ford is starting the monthlong Double Tent Freedom sales event starting with the Fourth of July weekend. Special incentives will include $1,000 Smart Bonus Cash on select vehicles; and zero percent financing for select 2015 and 2016 models.

Friendly Ford, which opened in 1970, is a 17-time winner of the President’s Award, Ford’s highest single honor for customer satisfaction.
