Lexus CT 200h awakens imagination at every turn

Sure, the 2017 Lexus CT 200h and CT200h F Sport are industry leaders when it comes to fuel economy with EPA estimates of 43 mpg in the city and 40 mpg on the highway, but what’s engineered into these luxury sport hybrids is nothing short of “Star Wars” technology. In addition to the luxurious option of perforated leather for an interior, Lexus CT also offers its NuLuxe material that generates 65 percent fewer CO2 emissions during the manufacturing process than other leather substitutions and zero volatile organic compounds during the production process.

And in harvesting ways to go green, the Lexus CT uses plant-based plastics that contain 30 percent sustainable materials, including significant use of sugarcane. The vehicle’s available 10-speaker audio system, for example, boasts having the industry’s first speakers constructed with sustainable bamboo charcoal resin.

Within the cockpit of the low, road-hugging CT, the driver has state-of-the-art high-tech controls at his or her fingertips. Besides the standard backup camera, an intuitive parking assist feature is available that utilizes inconspicuous sensors integrated into the front and rear bumpers designed to detect and warn of nearby objects.

A pre-collision system is available that has been engineered to detect oncoming vehicles, should the CT’s computer system determine a frontal collision is imminent. This system is designed to automatically increase braking before impact. In conjunction with this feature is a Dynamic Radar Cruise Control that helps maintain a preset distance from the vehicle traveling in front of you by automatically reducing speed and applying brakes at speeds above 25 mph.
