Less than week after filing for divorce, Elaine Wynn was nominated to serve another three-year term on the board of directors for Wynn Resorts Ltd, the casino operator her soon-to-be ex-husband chairs.
The company announced today that Elaine Wynn, Linda Chen and John A. Moran were all nominated and will stand for election at the casino operator’s annual meeting on May 5.
Last Thursday, Elaine Wynn filed for divorce from Wynn Resorts Chairman and CEO Steve Wynn. Clark County District Court spokesman Michael Sommermeyer told The Associated Press the papers had been sealed.
The Wynns had not publicly confirmed or denied any split and have not discussed the matter.
In a company statement today, Steve Wynn heaped praise on his board members.
"We are delighted that our board continues to have the quality of representation that we have enjoyed in the past and we appreciate these three directors agreeing to serve for yet another term,” he said. “Every public company in America currently faces unprecedented challenges and has a critical need for board members of the highest caliber. Wynn Resorts is very fortunate to have men and women of such quality willing to serve on its board."
The Wynn’s have divorced before, in 1986 after 23 years of marriage, although Steve Wynn was quoted as saying he never moved out. They married again in 1991.
