Green Valley Ranch Resort getting $20 million in upgrades

Station Casinos announced plans Wednesday to spend $20 million on improvements to Green Valley Ranch Resort by adding four restaurant and bar concepts and other amenities to the hotel-casino in Henderson.

The move comes after the company recently announced a $35 million renovation to Red Rock Resort.

The Green Valley Ranch changes are expected to be completed by spring 2015.

As part of the changes, Station Casinos will bring to Green Valley Ranch a branch of Mercadito, a Zagat-award winning restaurant from the Sandoval brothers of Chicago. The restaurant serves traditional Mexican cuisine with modern twists. The beverage menu includes variations of classic cocktails and an extensive tequila list. A similar restaurant is being added to Red Rock.

Also, Green Valley Ranch will add Tippling Hall, a beverage and comfort food concept that will open it first location in Chicago this summer; Pizza Rock from 11-time World Pizza Champion Tony Gemignani and Slice House, which offers slices of Gemignani’s pizza products.

Gemignani operates the Tony’s of North Beach restaurant at the Graton Casino in Nothern California that Station Casinos operates for an Indian tribe. His quick slice pizza concept is also in the Graton casino’s food court.

Other changes include a new electronic marquee overlooking the 215 Beltway and a recently opened 16-seat keno lounge by the Grand Café.

Green Valley Ranch will also add a wedding suite and upgrade nearly 300 rooms in the hotel’s east tower. The property’s spa, banquet space, the high limit gaming room and the Feast Buffet will receive enhancements. Also, 33 of the resort’s VIP suites will be upgraded.
