IGT to supply Canadian province with video lottery terminals

Slot machine maker International Game Technology said Wednesday it signed an agreement with Saskatchewan to supply the Canadian province with 1,375 video lottery terminals.

Financial details weren't disclosed.

The Western Canada Lottery Corp., which operates the video lottery program on behalf of the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority, will begin installing the slot machinelike IGT terminals throughout the province this winter.

Last year, Bally Technologies announced it had an agreement to replace 650 VLTs in Saskatchewan.

Deutsche Bank gaming analyst Carlo Santarelli told investors another Canadian province, Manitoba, is expected to announce contracts replacing upward of 6,000 VLTs.

Santarelli said IGT could garner
35 percent to 40 percent of that market, which could be worth 4 cents to 5 cents in earnings per share.
